Sesetengah kelompok kaki muat turun menggunakan torrent telah dilaporkan mengharamkan penggunaan sistem operasi Windows 10. Ahli-ahli group torrent berkenaan dinasihatkan supaya menjauhkan diri terjebak menggunakannya.

Menurut TorrentFreak, group-group seperti iTS dan FSC telah membantah sekeras-kerasnya Terma Penggunaan Windows 10 baharu yang diantaranya menyebut tentang memberi kebenaran kepada Microsoft untuk mengimbas storan pengguna dalam usaha untuk menjejak perisian cetak rompak. iTS telah menyatakan pengharaman penggunaan Windows 10 terhadap ahli-ahli group mereka.

Kebimbangan di kalangan pengguna yang mengutamakan kerahsiaan turut meliputi perkhidmatan Microsoft lain seperti Cortana, Xbox Live dan Skype atas sebab pernyataan ini di dalam perjanjian penggunaan perkhidmatannya.
