Kedua-dua syarikat ini mengalami pergeseran selepas Apple telah membuat keputusan untuk menghentikan bayaran lesen kepada Qualcomm.<\/p>\n<p>Permohonan Qualcomm telah dikemukakan kepada\u00a0International Trade Commission Amerika Syarikat yang bertanggungjawab mengawal selia import ke Amerika Syarikat. iPhone tertakluk di bawah bidang kuasa ITC disebabkan ianya diperbuat di Asia dan dijual di Amerika Syarikat. Secara teorinya, ia lebih pantas diambil tindakan jika dibandingkan kes yang dibicarakan di mahkamah.<\/p>\n<p>Apple memutuskan untuk tidak membayar hak cipta lesen paten kepada Qualcomm awal tahun ini hingga memberikan kesan terhadap jumlah pendapatan keseluruhan pengeluar chipset peranti mudah alih yang popular tersebut. Qualcomm menjangkakan pendapatan pendapatan tahunannya berkurang sehingga $500 juta, menunjukkan betapa pentingnya urus niaga diantara kedua-dua syarikat ini.<\/p>\n<p>Justifikasi pihak Apple untuk mengambil tindakan berkenaan adalah kerana merasakan pihak Qualcomm telah berlaku tidak adil dalam menetapkan syarat-syarat perlesenan patennya. Tindakan ini turut dianggap cuba memonopoli pasaran telefon pintar. Selain Apple, Samsung turut mempunyai isu terhadap Qualcomm berkenaan hal ini.<\/p>\n<p>Qualcomm setakat ini masih belum memberikan maklum balas berkenaan hal ini dan berkemungkinan besar, larangan import berkenaan tidak akan dilaksanakan.
