Selain itu, papan induk bagi pemprosesan Skylake turut menyenaraikan sokongan untuk RAM jenis DDR3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Walaupun penggunaan RAM jenis DDR3 bersama-sama pemprosesan jenis baru ini boleh dibuat, para pengguna perlu berhati-hati dan peka tentang beberapa perkara remeh yang boleh menyebabkan kerosakan pada papan induk yang menyokong pemprosesan Intel Skylake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tetapan\u00a0voltan yang lebih tinggi bagi DDR3\u00a0boleh menyebabkan kerosakan pada kawalan memori bersepadu (integrated memory controller, IMC) papan induk berkenaan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DDR4 mempunyai tetapan asal bekalan voltan pada 1.2 V dan bagi DDR3L pula ia ditetapkan pada 1.35 V. Untuk DDR3 pula, tetapan asal bekalan voltannya adalah pada sekitar 1.5 V hingga 1.65 V.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Perkara ini telah disedari oleh Tom&#8217;s Hardware dan pihak mereka telah memaklumkan permasalahan ini kepada pihak Intel. Perbezaan tetapan bekalan voltan boleh menyebabkan IMC terbakar dan seterusnya merosakkan pemproses berkenaan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Masalah ini biasanya wujud bagi pengguna yang ingin memasang komputer desktop sendiri melalui pembelian perkakasan secara berasingan. Pada kebiasaannya pihak pengeluar menyatakan papan induk dengan soket\u00a0LGA1151 masih lagi menyokong RAM DDR3, namun ia tidak memaklumkan tentang masalah yang bakal timbul dari penggunaan pemprosesan Intel Skylake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pun begitu, kemungkinan pemprosesan Skylake boleh digunakan bersama RAM DDR3 dengan mengurangkan voltan bekalannya. Walaubagaimanapun, ini akan menyebabkan sistem komputer akan berfungsi pada kelajuan klok yang lebih rendah dari yang disyorkan.
