Walaupun Intel agak ketinggalan dalam bidang pembuatan cip pemprosesan yang dikhaskan untuk peranti mudah alih, namun sejak kebelakangan ini Intel rancak merapatkan jurangnya dengan ARM dengan memperhalusi teknologi kecekapan penggunaan tenaganya.<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jika diteliti spesifikasi peranti-peranti mudah alih yang ada di pasaran hari ini, kita akan segera mendapati pemproses pada peranti berkenaan biasanya dibahagikan kepada dua jenis iaitu Intel Atom dan ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) . Pemproses seperti\u00a0Samsung Exynos, Qualcomm Snapdragon, Nvidia Tegra dan\u00a0Apple A7 tergolong di dalam pemproses bersenibina ARM.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kedua-dua senibina pemproses ini direkabentuk untuk dioperasikan dalam keadaan bekalan kuasa rendah supaya dapat memanjangkan jangka hayat bateri peranti yang dikuasakannya. Bagaimanapun, kedua-dua jenis pemproses ini berpegang kepada falsafah yang berbeza. Senibina ARM direkabentuk seringkas mungkin untuk meminimumkan penggunaan tenaga. Manakala Intel pula, senibina pemprosesannya lebih kompleks untuk memberikan kelebihan ketersesuaian (compatibility) dengan pemproses untuk komputer desktop dan laptop. Justeru, menjadikannya lebih banyak memerlukan kuasa elektrik.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sesuatu yang perlu diambil kira, ARM sudah bertapak berdekad-dekad lamanya sebagai pemproses utama untuk platform peranti\u00a0mudah alih. Berbeza dengan Intel yang walaupun merupakan gergasi pengeluar pemproses dunia, ia boleh dikirakan sebagai pendatang baru di dalam bidang pembuatan pemprosesan untuk peranti mudah alih. Ketika ini, ARM masih lagi dominan pada platform\u00a0Apple (iPhone dan iPad) dan juga Windows Phone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lain pula halnya dengan peranti-peranti Android. Walaupun ia masih lagi didominasi oleh pemproses ARM, Intel sedaya upaya memberikan saingan di dalam lapangan Android melalui pemprosesan Intel Atom dengan kemunculan peranti seperti <a href=\"http:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/smartphones\/asus-zenfone.html\" target=\"_blank\">Asus Zenfone<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Peranti yang berasaskan senibina pemprosesan Intel kini boleh menjalankan aplikasi-aplikasi Android yang dikhususkan untuk senibina ARM. Bagaimanapun, jika aplikasi berkenaan mengandungi kod spesifik ARM, ia perlu diterjemahkan terlebih dahulu sebelum ianya boleh dijalankan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tentu sahaja tugasan ini memerlukan tenaga yang lebih dari yang sepatutnya, jadi terdapat sedikit gangguan pada prestasi dan juga pada jangka hayat penggunaan bateri. Bagaimanapun, ianya masih perlu diperhalusi dari masa ke semasa kerana Intel kini sedang mengusahakan pemprosesan yang lebih cekap tenaga dan cuba mencapai ke tahap sekurangnya-kurangnya setaraf dengan pesaingnya. Pada masa yang sama juga, Intel menyeru dan menggalakkan para pembangun aplikasi untuk menghasilkan versi khas natif Intel pada aplikasi-aplikasi masing-masing.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Perkara yang hampir serupa berlaku pada platform Windows, di mana keadaan menjadi sebaliknya. Pada Windows, Intel sememangnya sudah la mendominasi platform ini. Cuma ARM sahaja yang baru cuba berjinak-jinak menyesuaikan senibinanya dengan Windows melalui percubaannya pada Windows RT. Bagaimanapun, Windows RT bukanlah sistem operasi yang digemari ramai. Salah satunya adalah ketiadaan mod desktop seperti mana Windows 8. Apa yang ada pada Windows RT hanyalah mod jubin yang menggunakan antaramuka Metro dan hanya boleh menjalankan aplikasi Metro yang boleh diperoleh dari Windows Store. Secara keseluruhannya, Windows RT lebih sucks dari Windows 8.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apa pun, menjelang pengumuman Windows 10, kemungkinan besar ia tidak akan mendatangkan masalah buat ARM memandangkan ia direka dengan keutamaan memudahkan pengguna serta mengurangkan penggunaan sumber termasuklah kuasa pemprosesan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Kelebihan yang dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pengguna dalam persaingan antara kedua pengeluar pemproses ini adalah pengguna mendapat teknologi yang lebih efisien penggunaan tenaganya tanpa mengorbankan prestasinya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>-Imej cover diperoleh dari\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theregister.co.uk\/2013\/09\/03\/intel_avoton_atom_server_chip_preview\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Register<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Intel dan ARM kini bersaing sengit meraih dominasi pasaran peranti mudah alih melalui inovasi-inovasi pemprosesan terkininya.
