Namun, kini pakar sejarah kini bersetuju bahawa manusia secara semulajadinya <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Segmented_sleep\" target=\"_blank\">memiliki corak tidur dua\u00a0fasa<\/a> (bi-phasic). Sebelum kemunculan penggunaan cahaya elektrik, manusia dahulu kala masuk tidur agak awal iaitu tidak lama selepas matahari terbenam. Mereka kemudiannya akan bangun pada tengah malam untuk memasak, beribadat, berborak sesama anggota keluarga atau bagi suami isteri pula, mereka akan menggunakan kesempatan ini untuk membuat\u00a0bayi bersama-sama.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tidur pada waktu selain dari tengah malam bukanlah menandakan seseorang itu pemalas. Ia adalah sebahagian daripada fitrah manusia yang memerlukan rehat secukupnya. Seseorang yang cukup rehatnya mampu meningkatkan produktiviti hidupnya. Pada zaman kegemilangan tamadun Islam, budaya tidur siang bukanlah sesuatu yang dianggap negatif. Ia amat popular di kalangan masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar Laut Mediterranean. Orang Sepanyol sehingga kini masih lagi mengekalkan budaya ini dan menggelarkannya sebagai &#8216;siesta&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Malah, tidur sebentar di siang hari adalah sebahagian dari sunnah Rasulullah S.A.W.\u00a0Imam Al Ghazali di dalam kitab \u2018Ihya Ulumuddin\u2019 pernah menyebutkan,\u00a0\u201cHendaklah seseorang tidak meninggalkan tidur di siang hari kerana ianya membantu ibadah di malam hari sebagimana sahur membantu puasa di siang hari. Sebaik-baiknya ialah bangun sebelum gelincir matahari untuk solat zohor.\u201d Sudah pasti, tidur pada waktu siang itu tidak boleh diamalkan secara berlebihan. Memadai sekadar menghilangkan penat dan rasa mengantuk kita.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Menurut Wikipedia pula, jenis-jenis tidur dibahagikan kepada 5 corak. Corak tidur kebiasaan manusia modern adalah fasa tunggal (monophasic). Manakala waktu tidur lebih dari sekali dalam sehari juga dikenali sebagai poli-fasa (poly phasic) dibahagikan kepada empat bahagian iaitu,\u00a0biphasic, Everyman, Dymaxion dan Uberman.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Corak tidur poli fasa ini digunakan oleh sesetengah individu untuk meningkatkan daya produktiviti mereka. Paling menonjol adalah salah seorang pengasas WordPress, Matt Mullenweg yang <a href=\"http:\/\/fourhourworkweek.com\/2015\/02\/09\/matt-mullenweg\/\" target=\"_blank\">sudi berkongsi teknik tidur<\/a> paling berkesan untuk produktiviti apabila ditemuramah oleh pengarang Tim Ferris.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Beliau telah membahagikan waktu tidur beliau kepada 6 bahagian pada setiap hari. I wrote WordPress in that time,\u201d ujar beliau dalam satu wawancara.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Oleh itu, jika korang melihat aku tidur di siang hari. Janganlah cepat-cepat menuduh aku ini seorang yang pemalas.
