Syarikat tersebut merupakan syarikat rintis yang ditubuhkan oleh sekumpulan bekas jurutera Apple.<\/p>\n<p>Kini, gambaran bagaimana Qualcomm berhasrat mencabar Apple di arena pemprosesan ARM kian jelas. Menerusi acara khas untuk pelaburnya untuk tahun ini, Ketua Pegawai Teknologi Qualcomm, Dr James Thompson telah mendedahkan pihaknya sedang merancang untuk melancarkan CPU generasi berikut keluarannya khusus untuk PC Windows sekitar 2023. Sampel bagi silikon baharu terbabit dijangka dapat disediakan pada 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Sasaran baharu kini bukan sahaja menyaingi Apple Silicon dan pemprosesan siri M keluaran Apple untuk laptop dan desktop, malah perlu menyeimbangkan antara prestasi dan tahap penggunaan bateri. Qualcomm juga mahu meningkatkan keupayaan GPU Adreno mereka setanding dengan prestasi GPU kegunaan desktop.<\/p>\n<p>Usaha ke arah itu oleh Qualcomm ini banyak bergantung pada pasukan Nuvia yang diambil alihnya. Pasukan tersebut kebanyakannya terdiri daripada kakitangan-kakitangan penting dalam pembangunan cipset siri A yang popular digunakan pada iPhone dan iPad.<\/p>\n<p>Sama ada CPU baharu Qualcomm ini mampu mencapai sasaran yang telah ditetapkan masih lagi belum dapat dipastikan.
