IBM telah memberikan kejutan apabila dilaporkan telah berjaya membangunkan cip 2nm pertama di dunia. Buat masa ini, kebanyakan cip-cip yang dihasilkan adalah melalui proses 7nm.<\/p>\n

Cip 2nm yang dihasilkan oleh IBM ini dikatakan dihasilkan melalui pendawaian yang amat halus, sehalus selembar DNA manusia. Menurut sumber, cip ini mampu memuatkan sehingga 50 billion transistor di dalam satu kawasan seluas kuku jari.<\/p>\n

Walaupun tiada data dan ukuran prestasi rasmi dikeluarkan, IBM mendakwa cip baharu ini menawarkan peningkatan 45% prestasi berbanding cip 7nm dengan kuasa yang sama.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Cip ini juga boleh disesuaikan dan kurang penggunaan tenaga sehingga 75%, tetapi masih lagi mampu menyediakan tahap prestasi sama seperti 7nm.<\/p>\n

Pun begitu, pencapaian ini masih lagi boleh dicabar oleh pengeluar-pengeluar semikonduktor lain seperti TSMC.
